Sedco Corp was searching for a solution that would save time and help us create digital catalogs more efficiently. We needed a more global presence and to reduce the time required to upload and distribute large product catalogs. We wanted to focus on pushing orders and fulfilling quote requests. With a large variety of products spanning 12 spreadsheets, it took our team approximately 3 to 4 hours to upload products to our previous platform. We needed a new solution that would significantly cut down on the time spent creating the catalogs each week, and provide us with the ability to make updates quickly and easily.
The DCatalog solution allows us to regenerate the entire catalog with the click of a button and on-demand any time our product data changes, ensuring an evergreen catalog version that is always up to date and current. We also wanted to find a company that provided better support and client management, as the solution we were using had no customer service contact.
When researching solutions, we noticed that DCatalog’s platform offered Sedco a way to speed up the process of assembling the catalog and uploading it. The platform saves us time and removes the need for manual input from our team. It also provides a way to integrate the digital catalog with our website, which our previous solution lacked. Now, customers can generate a quote straight from the site, and quickly receive confirmation and the quote within 24 hours.
DCatalog’s capabilities are better suited to our B2B sales model. We also appreciate the ease of onboarding new SKUs and updating them quickly.
Now, all of our data is centralized and updates quickly. Due to the success to the streamlined process and rapid quote delivery, we can report positive sales results, including a $10,000 order from a new account opened using the digital catalog. We are able to bypass opening new client accounts, which takes time, and instead we can generate a quote and put notes about pricing in the quote box, which helps us get the quotes out quicker and in an more efficient manner.
Our previous system was increasingly glitchy and unreliable, leading to significant delays in catalog updates and accessibility issues for customers. The lack of support further compounded these problems. DCatalog provides better support and easier catalog updates.
The onboarding process with DCatlaog was straightforward after the initial work was complete, and we found the system to be simple to use. The ease of updating the catalog means that updates are now done weekly, compared to our previous platform that often resulted in months between updates.
In addition, we really like the analytics part of it and we check frequently. We notice the general area where Sedco customers are coming from and we are able to connect them directly with a sales rep to facilitate the ordering process.
We are looking forward to growing the digital catalog to 1,000 pages!
